Water baptism was set forth by Jesus Himself. It is a holy sacrament of the church and an experience with God. The Bible teaches that the following happens in water baptism:

1) We die with Jesus (Romans 6:3)
2) We are raised with Jesus (Colossians 2:12)
3) Our hearts are circumcised (I Peter 3:21)
4) We receive the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38)
5) We are baptized into the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:13)
6) We are baptized into Christ Himself (Galatians 3:26-27)
